The progressive Democratic types are having a fun-fest type deal with music, fun, Howard Dean, etc. at Stubb's next weekend. Bleh.
BTW, Kevin Zeese and Joshua Frank (and possibly a certain maverick Britsh MP) will be speaking at Socialism 2005. http://www.socialismconference.org

I believe it can happen, just not any time soon. The 2008 election won't make that much of a change.
I'm not so sure. I think the 2008 election could make a difference if enough people have the courage to abandon the Democrats, AND, if a real alternative runs and has enough momentum to make a difference.
I'm sure the socialism conference this year will be great. I actually have been meeting a lot of ISOers out here - I now live with one of them (Leticia). The line up is definitely appealing, but alas, money, time constraints, etc.
